Cellular Materials - CELLMAT 2010

Cellular materials are characterised by their unique combination of properties like low specific weight with additional useful properties (absorption of energy and noise). Due to their high specific surface area cellular materials are promising candidates for filtration, as catalyser or for heat storage and heat exchange.

During the last two decades, numerous activities in research and development of cellular materials have attracted attention. But at present, in Germany as well as all over the world, a strong engagement in application activities of cellular materials can be reflected.

The aim of the conference is to support and promote the application of cellular materials based on metals, ceramics and glasses. International experts will give plenary lectures on the applications in automotive, in machine and equipment construction, for chemical and energy systems, for environmental purposes or for micro and medical devices. Additional contributions on machining, quality and process control, new technologies in manufacturing of cellular materials as well as joining and coating techniques will be discussed during the conference. An exhibition of cellular materials will be organised in conjunction with the event.
